Seeing
is

Freeing

Restoring sight to God’s daughters by bringing light and love into dark places.

Our Vision

Having clear vision is something most of us take for granted. Being able to see and read is a daily expectation, that is until you find yourself incarcerated. Having a quality pair of prescription glasses for these daily tasks is not what most women experience while serving their time in prison. Vision of Hope DOC purchases quality prescription glasses from online vendors that are better fitting and more personalized for the women who need them. Our vision is to place as many pairs of glasses on the faces of God’s daughters as are needed. Our hope is that by being able to see, it will provide additional clarity in every aspect of their life. Ultimately, we want them to experience that seeing is freeing.

Their Vision

The benefactors of Vision of Hope DOC are not women we are able to meet personally due to their current living arrangements. We do, however, get letters from them! We get to hear how having vision - clear vision - gives them hope. That is what receiving a good pair of prescription glasses has done for these women. We bring them hope through the ability to see clearly so they can read, work, and see who is around them. In some cases they are seeing themselves clearly for the first time in years. Hear in their own words how gaining sight is a blessing and that vision and hope do indeed make a difference and are not taken for granted.

Giving Vision

With each contribution to Vision of Hope DOC, we provide the gift of sight by purchasing a custom pair of prescription glasses for women who are incarcerated. In many cases, they do not make enough money to afford them on their own. That is where “outside” help comes in to assist those in need “on the inside”. Your contributions will assist us in bringing vision and hope to this underserved and often overlooked community. Most prescription glasses can be purchased by us for $60-$120 depending on the needs of each woman. We use contributions to process, purchase and provide quality prescription glasses to women who are incarcerated.
