I am very grateful and thankful to have been blessed with the glasses I received. To some it may be something simple, but for me I was able to see so much better. Not only has having my glasses made me feel better about my appearance, but I also perform better at my job. This ministry is truly amazing. So many can benefit from this opportunity. Knowing I can pay it forward means so much. I appreciate this gift so much. From the bottom of my heart, thank you!

Lacie is my best friend - so when she told me about what the Lord revealed to her after her lung surgery, all I could do was start batting around ideas from the excitement! Now, here we are one year later and although I am extremely thankful to have such cool glasses, I am more thankful to look around and see countless women walk by me everyday wearing a pair of Vision of Hope glasses which melts my heart and blows my mind! God is so good. He helped us steward His vision and my prayer is that we can expand to both Colorado prisons and perhaps the women’s prisons in Texas, or even all across the USA! Lacie was my angel for the beautiful glasses :):) that I picked out :):). Lacie asked me to pick out three glasses. There was a clear pair, rainbow pair, and a purple pair. I really wanted the clear because it changes colors on the frame :):) Plus, I have been in prison for 15 years so with that you have given me such a blessing that I get to enjoy these glasses every day of my life. I’m serving an 85-year sentence at Denver Women’s Correctional Facility. I’ve been here for fourteen years. The reason why I tell you this is I had to deal with “state-issued” glasses that did not fit my face and were of poor quality and I couldn’t see well. Nor did they last long as they broke easily. Whoever you are that took the time to help a stranger receive better sight - Thank You. I pray that God returns the blessing to you. As I can now see very good, the frames are my favorite color, people that never said a word to me before have spoken just because of the simple gift of these beautiful glasses. I got my new glasses today and I wanted to let you know how very grateful I am! I truly feel like a new person!

When I was in the infirmary, I was unable to have an eye exam or able to get glasses to read, see, or watch television comfortably. When I was transferred to Denver Women’s, I saw several girls with new nice glasses. When I asked how they got them, I was told they had them sent in and ordered at a price that was higher than I could afford. One of my fellow inmates said they had a way to help me out and there was a program that could help me. I was so thankful. I recently received my new pair of glasses and I can see well and do all the the things I need now. I’m so thankful for them and the help I received.

I am SO SUPER grateful to this ministry because it has helped me to see better & to feel better about myself. My self-esteem has risen as well as my self-confidence. Over the years in prison I developed a bad sensitivity to light. At times, even having to wear my regular prison glasses with a pair of sunglasses. My headaches and eye pain continued to get worse with the prison’s medical services not being willing to help. Thanks to the love of others and God, I was blessed with glasses that not only fit, but have transitions. When I first saw them my eyes filled with tears. Thank you. This gift has made life more bearable outside and I can walk with my eyes wide open.

I am serving a life sentence without any chance of parole; I have been locked up in the State of Colorado now for 23 years and I have always had problems with my eyes and getting good glasses in CO DOC. This might sound a little off, but every now and then I would ask God for better eyeglasses. And now because of people like you, and God, I can see way better, and I look way better. Please know that what you’re doing is helping women to see. There are two Bible verses that come to my mind. The first is Matthew 25:35 and Proverbs 29:18. Look, with all that’s happening in the world today it feels good to me to know that there’s still the love of God in people - - - and with that said, Thank you, and know that I will always try and put you in my prayers.

I want to thank you for this program that brings a touch of hope and style to Denver Women’s. It has given me a chance to see in style and not look like everyone else. It has brought smiles to my face as well as other people’s faces.

When a person is locked up there is not a lot of things that help us. And this is one of the biggest gifts a person locked away can ask for. Not only do they let us pick out styles, but we also get extras! When I got to pick from the coolest pair of glasses that come in all types of shapes, sizes, colors, and many different patterns, I was SUPER STOKED! I picked from 3 different pairs and I was so happy. I couldn’t wait to wear them. It was kinda like Christmas for me, I guess because I didn’t know which pair exactly I was getting. A month later I went and picked them up. I was so excited they were the exact pair I wanted when I had seen them, and they were the transitions ones too. I put them on and they fit so perfect on my face, and I could see clear as day. They are so light. I can hardly tell I’m wearing them. I walked out feeling like a brand new person. I was smiling from ear to ear. They even built my confidence. Thank you.
